AT&T Eyes Atlanta for High Speed Internet Service

With Google Fiber looming over the horizon, AT&T is considering providing high speed Internet in 21 new major metropolitan areas, including Atlanta.
According to AT&T, such a service will deliver broadband speeds of up to 1 Gigabit per second to consumers and businesses, which is 100 times faster than your basic run-of-the-mill broadband connection.
No word yet as to when Atlanta might get the gigabit service or how much it would cost. Should it come to fruition, the service would only be available to U-verse TV subscribers.
