When green screens and giant film sets just won’t cut it, you film on location–and Atlanta is starting to become a Mecca for this kind of activity here in the South. The 2002 legislation passed by the State of Georgia that granted tax incentives to the film industry certainly helped set the stage.
The 80s were when Little Darlings and Driving Miss Daisy put the city firmly on screen, if only just for a while. Fast forward to the present day and you see Fast & Furious 7, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, and Term Life setting up shop here. Heck, even TV wants a piece of the pie with Halt and Catch Fire making its presence known.
Cue increased sightings of many famous people.
