Mayor Reed Creates Committee for Walking and Biking Features

Mayor Kasim Reed has created an advisory committee to help add walking and bicycling features to Atlanta transportation projects as part of the national “Mayor’s Summit for Safer People and Safer Streets Challenge.”

Reed said, “Connecting the city for cyclists and pedestrians delivers benefits across the board – health, safety, environmental, transportation, and overall quality of life.”

This announcement comes on the heels of a proposed infrastructure bond to improve city streets. Part of the new program would include 500 bicycles and 50 rental stations.
