Atlanta area residents turned out in the hundreds to march for an increase in minimum wage in the fast food industry. The march was part of the national campaign “The Fight for $15”, which started in New York and urges major employers like McDonalds for an hourly wage increase.
The federal minimum wage is $7.25, and legislation was just introduced in Georgia to raise it to $10.10 in the state. Protesters carried signs that said, “People and Planet over Profit” while chanting “If we don’t get it, shut it down!”
